Department of History of Art

*In the case of courses that take place in both winter and summer semesters, incoming students can enrol for one semester during which they are in Prague. Teachers take this possibility into account and allow alternative (earlier) completion of the course if necessary.

Créations dépaysées: Artistes, écrivains et cinéastes d’Europe centrale… et la France (Summer Semester) (on-line course, collaboration with Sorbonne University Paris and University Warsaw) : 4 credits

The offer of courses in English, which is changing every year – this year offer:

Visual Literacy: Understanding Images across Europe. Past and Present* (Winter and Summer Semester; the course is held for the third time this year and the travel expanses of teachers and students are covered) (on-line course combined with one-week workshop in Warsaw, Milan and Prague, collaboration with University Milan and University Warsaw): 6 credits

Arts and Crafts Schools in Central Europe in the 19th Century until 1939 (Summer Semester) (on-line course combined with one-week workshop in Düsseldorf, collaboration with Heinrich-Heine Universität Düsseldorf, Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien, University Amsterdam; the travel expanses of teachers and students are covered): 4 credits

Portraiture in the Age of Photography: Art beyond the “Recorded” Image in the Long 19th Century (Summer Semester) 6 credits
